An electric lock performing locking/unlocking of a lock through wireless communication with a recording medium having a communication function comprises: a housing (11) in which metal is used at least in a part thereof; an antenna (22) used for measuring a distance between the antenna and the recording medium by a radio wave; detection means (33) for detecting a value corresponding to the receiving strength of the radio wave by the antenna (22); and setting means (34) for setting a recording medium determination threshold value for determining whether or not the recording medium exists within a predetermined distance from the antenna (22), on the basis of the value corresponding to the receiving strength of the radio wave from the recording medium detected by the detection means (33) for the radio wave from the antenna (22). The antenna (22) is installed at least in the housing (11).
