To provide an electric lock capable of mitigating a load on a battery by shortening a response time until control of a lock after reception of a control request for locking/unlocking the lock.SOLUTION: An electric lock for controlling locking/unlocking of a lock includes: a storage unit 13 that stores a certification authority public key 131; a challenge generation/transmission means 141 for generating a challenge and transmitting the challenge to a communication terminal; response reception means 142 for receiving from the communication terminal a terminal certificate ID and a response to the challenge; certificate request means 143 for transmitting a transmission request for a terminal certificate to the communication terminal when no terminal public key corresponding to the received certificate ID is stored in the storage unit; certificate verification means 144 for verifying a terminal certificate received from the communication terminal and storing, in the storage unit, a terminal public key included in the terminal certificate having verified rightness in connection with a certificate ID of the terminal certificate; and lock control means 146 for controlling the lock when it is verified using the terminal public key stored in the storage unit that the received response is a right response.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
