To provide an electric motor car which minimizes current consumption, when its driver forgets to cut off the power switch of the electric motor car and leaves the car.
An electric motor car A, which is operated by a battery is laid at a position below the seat surface 5 of a car body 11 and is provided with a motor drive circuit having switching elements which are turned on and off by a control circuit; a motor which is operated by the motor drive circuit, rear wheels 12 which are driven by the motor, an accelerator 2 for controlling the rotational speed of the motor, a power switch for causing current to flow from the battery to the control circuit and interrupting the current, and an operating state detecting means for detecting the operating state of the motor; and power supply from the battery is limited despite the power switch being in an on-state, when the operating state detecting means detects a nonoperating state of the motor continuously for a specified time.
