A rotor 30 has multiple permanent magnets 50 and forms the electric motor together with a stator. The rotor includes a rotor core 31 having multiple magnet supporting recesses 32 each so formed as to support a pair of permanent magnets 50, and multiple magnet fixing members 40 including magnet holders 41 placed in the magnet supporting recesses 32 so that each of them is abutted against a pair of permanent magnets 50 supported by the magnet supporting recesses 32 without contact with the rotor core 31, supporting column portions 42 extended from the magnet holders 41, and mounts 45 provided at the end of the corresponding supporting column portion 42 on the opposite side to the magnet holder 41 and fixed on the rotor core 31.
