PURPOSE: To increase the suspension stroke without requiring a high-output electromagnetic force generating device and improve the reliability of an electromagnetic suspension as compared with a conventional one.
CONSTITUTION: A suspension arm 10 is pivotally supported on a vehicle body via a pivotal shaft 14 at the frontend and rotatably supports a wheel 18 at the rear end, and the output shaft of an electric motor 32 fixed to the vehicle body is torque-transmittably connected to the front end of the suspension arm 10 via a reduction mechanism 30, the pivotal shaft 14, and a bush 12. The driving current fed to the electric motor 32, i.e., the output torque of the electric motor 32, is controlled by an electronic control device 36 in response to the rotation angle of the motor 32 detected by a rotation angle sensor 34, thus the force between the vehicle body and the wheel 18 is controlled via the suspension arm 10.
