Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive electric motor vehicle drive system rich in reliability such as damage prevention of an inverter, even when a motor is driven at a permissible maximum rotational speed or more, in an electric motor vehicle with the synchronous motor serving as the drive source.
SOLUTION: A peak value of maximum induced voltage of a synchronous motor 16 in a permissible maximum rotational speed of an electric motor vehicle is set at permissible voltage or less of a smoothing capacitor 18 of an inverter 14 and permissible maximum voltage or less of a power switching element constituting the inverter 14. That is, letting VCmax be the permissible voltage of the smoothing capacitor 18, the synchronous motor 16 is constituted so as to satisfy a relation V0max≤VCmax where V0max is at a permissible maximum rotational speed N2 of the synchronous motor 16.
