Abstract:
To provide an electric motor which can prevent a brush from becoming a corner contact state to a commutator.SOLUTION: An electric motor 1 comprises: a rotor 20 having a rotating shaft 21 extending in a shaft center direction; a commutator 40 attached to the rotating shaft 21; a brush 50 contacting the commutator 40; and a brush storage part 81 which stores the brush 50. The brush 50 comprises: a front end surface 51; a rear end surface 52; a first side surface 53; and a second side surface 54. The brush storage part 81 comprises a first inner surface 81a facing the first side surface 53, and a second inner surface 81b facing the second side surface 54, and when an angle formed by the front end surface 51 and the first side surface 53 is considered as θ1, an angle formed by the rear end surface 52 and the second side surface 54 is considered as θ2, and an angle formed by a plane orthogonal to a direction of a shaft center C of the rotating shaft 21 and the first inner surface 81a is considered as β, θ1=α1-β, θ2=α2-β, θ1<90°, θ2<90°, θ2≤θ1, and 0°≤β<90°are satisfied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
