To provide an electric moving rack rejecting the moving of a moving rack facing a working passage, securing the safety of workers in the working passage and being used as a moving rack of multi-passage type.

The electric moving rack is provided with an operation switch 4 for the right; an operation switch 6 for the left; a control means 50, while a signal for the right is output, moving the moving rack to the right, and while a signal for the left is output, moving the moving rack to the left; adjoining rack detecting means 65 and 66 measuring a distance between adjoining racks; and passage entry detecting means 61 and 62 formed between the racks. The control means 50 controls to move the moving rack in the same direction as the moving of the adjoining moving rack and to hold a fixed distance toward the adjoining moving rack and, when the sensors 65 and 66 detect an approach of an adjoining moving rack to a predetermined distance, and rejects the moving of the moving rack, when entry detecting means 61 and 62 detect the entry of a moving rack. The moving racks other than the moving rack rejected its driving can arbitrarily move.
