Abstract:
To provide an electric outboard motor 1 capable of suppressing the damage of machine components when a reversing operation reversing a rotating direction of a motor 8 is performed in a ship propulsion.SOLUTION: An electric outboard motor 1 comprises: an operation part (33) configured to be switchable between a normal rotating position and a reverse rotating position, and operated by a user; and a control device 35 for switching a driving state of a motor 8 to a normal rotating state, a reverse rotating state, and a neutral state according to a position of the operation part. The control device 35 sets the driving state of the motor to the reverse rotating state (ST3) after setting the driving state of the motor 8 to the neutral state for a prescribed time (ST4), when the operation part is switched from the normal rotating position to the reverse rotating position (ST1: Yes) during navigation (ST2: Yes).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
