To provide an electric oven not to demand for a protection cover only for an electric light source to illuminate an oven cavity.

An electric oven 1 comprises an oven cavity 2 to contain a food intended to be heated; and a radiation type electric heater 3 with a built-in heat generating element 6. A heater 3 is supported by a wall 4 of the cavity 2, and has a surface 5 to radiate heat from the heat-generating element 6 in the direction of the cavity 2. The surface 5 is covered by a translucent sheet 10 situated with a distance from the heat generating element 6 and the sheet is formed in the shape of cloth formed of glass, ceramic, or a metallic filament or lattice. Further, a bulb means 13 is situated in the rear of the translucent sheet 10 in addition to the heat generating element 6 and situated in a manner to illuminate the oven cavity 2 through the sheet 10.
