To provide a compact and light electric pole device capable of effectively expanding a multistage pole.
In the electric pole device, power of a driving source 7 is transmitted to a drive cord 9 through a transmitting means to supply and take back the cord and expand the multistage pole 1. As the transmitting means, driving wheels 16 and 41 and driven wheels 17 and 42 are provided on coaxes 19 and 47 so as to freely rotate through rubber clutch plates 18 and 43. The clutch plates 18 and 43 are fixed on the driven wheels 17 and 42. The driving wheels 16 and 41 are provided with protruding parts 22 and 41E in sliding contact with surfaces of the clutch plates 18 and 43. The driving wheels 16 and 41 are driven to rotate by the driving source 7 and the driven wheels 17 and 42 are rotated through the clutch plates 18 and 43. Thus, the drive cord 9 is supplied/taken back to expand the pole 1. When an expansion of the cord is completed, the driving wheels 16 and 41 come into sliding contact with the clutch plates 18 and 43 and slip.
