Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize electric power of a DC power source as much as possible through an electric power management system that supplies DC electric power or AC electric power to a load appliance capable of operating with either of AC electric power or DC electric power.SOLUTION: An electric power management system 1 distributes one of AC electric power from a commercial power source 11 and DC electric power from DC power sources 12 and 13 to home electric appliances 14-17 (load appliance) set to be operable with either of the AC electric power and DC electric power. An HEMS controller 10 as a power distribution controller grasps current suppliable electric energy of AC electric power and DC electric power and power consumptions of the home electric appliances 14-17, and performs power distribution control over the home electric appliances 14-17 so as to optimize system efficiency. The HEMS controller 10 performs control to supply DC electric power to a larger number of home electric appliances 14-17 within the suppliable electric energy of the DC power sources 12 and 13.
