Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of preventing or suppressing a rattle noise caused by a gap inside a shaft bearing in a worm gear mechanical unit and backlashes, while transmitting torque by a magnetic joint in a non-contact manner.SOLUTION: An electric power steering device 9 is provided with a magnetic joint 30, at a joint part of an output shaft 13a and a worm shaft 21, which has a pair of disks 31, 32 whose disk faces are opposing to each other with a gap interposed therebetween. The magnetic joint 30 has a permanent magnet pair 51 oppositely arranged on disk faces, and the permanent magnet pair 51 constitutes non-contact torque transmission means by an arrangement of permanent magnets with different polarities being disposed opposite to each other in the shaft direction. The output shaft 13a is arranged eccentrically toward a worm wheel side with respect to the worm shaft 21.
