Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of preventing or suppressing a rattle noise caused by a worm gear mechanical unit while improving a steering follow-up performance of an electric motor.SOLUTION: An electric power steering device 9 is provided with an electric motor 13 for use in a range where the maximum rotational number becomes 3000 minor more. At a joint part of an output shaft 13a of the electric motor 13 and a worm shaft 21, a magnetic joint 30 is provided that has a pair of disks 31, 32 whose disk faces are opposing to each other with a gap interposed between them. The magnetic joint 30 has a permanent magnet pair 50 having annular magnet rows arranged on disk faces opposing to each other. In the permanent magnet pair 50, the plurality of permanent magnets whose different poles are opposing to each other are arranged opposing to each other in the axial direction to constitute non-contact torque transmission means.
