Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device having excellent steering feeling, capable of assisting increase/decrease of steering torque optimally according to the state of a vehicle in consideration of weight fluctuation such as the number of occupants.SOLUTION: Such a constitution is adopted that greater compensation assist power is added to target assist power in proportion to the seated number detected from seating detection means. Namely, since the vehicle body weight becomes heavier in proportion to the number of seated persons, greater compensation assist power is added to the target assist power to reduce a driver's load. As a result, steering feeling can be improved.
