Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device in which the generation of a hitting sound can be prevented by an elastic member, and the service life of the elastic member can be improved.
SOLUTION: The first rotation receiving surface R1 at a ball nut side, driven by a motor for giving a steering auxiliary force, as well as screwed to a ball screw shaft integral with a rack 4 which is engaged to a pinion, is opposed to the first rotation transmitting surface S1 at a rotor 8b side through an elastic member 81a, while the second rotation receiving surface R2 is opposed to the second rotation transmitting surface S2 at the rotor 8b side through a clearance δ. When the rotation torque transmitted from the motor to the ball nut is less than a specific value, the rotation of the rotor 8b is transmitted from the first rotation transmitting surface S1 to the ball nut, passing through the first rotation receiving surface R1 through the elastic member 81a. When the rotation torque is not less than the specific value, the rotation of the rotor 8b is transmitted to the ball nut from the second rotation receiving surface R2, as well as the second rotation transmitting surface S2 and the second rotation receiving surface R2 are metal-contacted by the elastic deformation of the elastic member 81a.
