In the electric power steering system, the control apparatus 120 includes: the semiconductor switching element 121; a multilayer circuit board 122; a conductive plate 123 for electrically connecting the semiconductor switching element 121 with the circuit board 122; a cover body 124 for storing the circuit board 122 and the semiconductor switching element 121 in cooperation with the motor 101. The semiconductor switching element 121 is installed on the cover body 124 and the cover body 124 is attached to the gear case 113.
