Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric car capable of improving the power conversion efficiency when supplying power from the main power supply wiring to the sub-power supply wiring.SOLUTION: An electric car includes main power supply wiring 10 for connecting a main battery and a power control unit, sub-power supply wiring 24 connecting a sub-battery and an auxiliary machine, first and second converters 28, 30, and an ECU 60. Both converters can supply power from the main power supply wiring to sub-power supply wiring, while stepping down the voltage. The power conversion efficiency (first conversion efficiency) of the first converter, and the power conversion efficiency (second conversion efficiency) of the second converter change depending on the magnitude of the output. The output dependency of the first conversion efficiency is different from that of the second conversion efficiency. The ECU 60 controls the outputs of both DC-DC converters, based on the power to be supplied to the sub-power supply wiring, and the output dependency of the first and second conversion efficiencies.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
