To solve such a problem that an electric-powered vehicle having a motor as a drive source has a risk of a rear-end collision against a person when starting because of a quiet travelling sound, has a higher risk of a rear-end collision against the persons located nearby when starting and stopping by the operation of a switch of remote control, for example in case of a golf cart, and has a risk of a collision of a person walking behind the vehicle by following it when stopping suddenly.
The electric-powered vehicle includes the motor for driving drive wheels powered by a battery, a drive control circuit for controlling the driving of the motor, a brake device for providing braking force to the drive wheels, a brake control circuit for operating the brake device, an obstacle sensor for outputting a signal to operate the brake device when detecting any obstacle ahead, and an informing means for informing based on the detection by the obstacle sensor.
