To provide an electric propulsion ship control system for charging large capacity rechargeable batteries loaded on a ship in short time and an electric propulsion ship loading the electric propulsion ship control system.
An electric propulsion ship control system 1 supplies power to an electric motor 36 for propulsion which drives a screw 38 of an electric propulsion ship. The electric propulsion ship control system 1 comprises: power receiving pedestals 31L, 31R for receiving power from a land power source; a transformer 11 which transforms AC voltage to be supplied via the power receiving pedestals 31L, 31R for the land power source; a DC/DC converter 13 which is a chopper circuit for transforming AC transformed by the transformer 11 to DC with predetermined voltage after converting the AC into the DC; and lithium ion batteries 32, 33 which are charged with the transformed DC with the predetermined voltage from the DC/DC converter 13 and supply power to the electric motor 36 for propulsion. The large capacity lithium ion batteries can be charged in short time and a continuous voyage for long time can be achieved.
