Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric propulsion system for a double ender in which facility utilization efficiency is improved.SOLUTION: In an electric propulsion system for a double ender, at both front and rear end sides of a ship body, propellers 12, 22 for propelling the ship body are mounted, respectively, and the propellers are driven by propulsion motors 11, 21 of which the speeds are controlled by a propulsion inverter 30. The propulsion motors 11, 21 are a plurality of propulsion motors of multiple windings. The propulsion inverter is divided into a plurality of propulsion inverters 31, 32, 33 in such a manner that the propulsion motor at a stern side in a view from a propulsion direction of the ship body can be connected to all the multiple windings and the propulsion motor at a bow side can be connected only to partial multiple windings. A part of the plurality of propulsion inverters is made into a shared propulsion inverter 32 which is used while switching connection to the multiple windings of the stern-side and bow-side propulsion motors via switches 35, 36. The number of the plurality of propulsion inverters is made less than the number of multiple windings of both the propulsion motors, and the capacity of the inverters is made less than that of both the propulsion motors.
