Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric propulsion system for an electric propulsion ship of low cost by sufficiently suppressing start current of a propulsion motor.SOLUTION: In an electric propulsion system 1 for an electric propulsion ship which includes a propulsion motor 5 for driving a propeller 3 and a power supply device 6 for supplying the propulsion motor with power, the power supply device is provided with a plurality of dynamos 11 driven by a plurality of engines 12 and an actuator 28 which provides the propulsion motor and inboard load with power and imparts startup power to the propulsion motor. Power is provided for the actuator from the power supply device. When starting, after the propulsion motor is rotated by the startup power of the actuator for the number of startup rotations, power is provided for the propulsion motor by the power supply device.
