Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric propulsion system and its operation method capable of restricting occurrence of spurious torque or at least reducing occurrence of the spurious torque when one or some of a plurality of electric thrusters lose functions.SOLUTION: A thruster re-alignment mechanism is constituted in such a way that each of thrust vectors [11, 21] of a plurality of sets of thrusters [10, 20] at a first position passes through a first gravity center point [3] and at a second position passes through a second gravity center point [4]. Although the thruster re-alignment mechanism is constituted to maintain the first position when all the thrusters [10,20] show no trouble, when any one of the thrusters [10, 20] shows a trouble and/or when a predetermined condition related to time is satisfied, realignment is applied to the plurality of sets of thrusters [10, 20] to cause them to be transferred to the second position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
