PURPOSE: To make it possible to charge battery by electric power taken in from outside and make installation of charger for exclusive use unnecessary by providing charge control means in a reel in electric reel in which battery is built in.
CONSTITUTION: Charge control means consisting of charge circuit 24, CPU 26 and timer 28, etc., is provided between input terminal 12 for receiving electricity provided in a reel 10 body and output terminal 20 for sending electricity to battery 22 to be charged. Electric power is supplied from commercial electric source 30 or battery 18 of car 16 to input terminal 12 and electricity is charged through charge circuit 24 and output terminal 20 to the battery 22. Voltage value of battery 22 during charge is monitored with CPU and when the voltage attains prescribed voltage, conduct between input terminal 12 and output terminal 20 is blocked and overcharge is prevented. When prescribed time passed, charge is stopped by action of time 28, even if battery 22 is not judged to be overcharged.
