This electric regeneration type pure water making apparatus is constituted of a plurality of sets of desalting chambers (81), etc. and concentration chambers (91), etc. wherein anion exchange membranes and cation exchange membranes are alternately arranged in succession between an anode chamber equipped with an anode and a cathode chamber equipped with a cathode. Each of the desalting chambers is divided into two chambers in a liquid passing direction and a mixture (M) of a cation exchanger and an anion exchanger and a bipolar membrane (B) are successively arranged in the upstream chamber so that the anion exchange membrane (a) of the bipolar membrane (B) is arranged so as to come into contact with the mixture (M) of the ion exchangers. The mixture (M) of the cation exchanger and the anion exchanger is arranged on the downstream side of each of the desalting chambers.
