To produce en electric resistance welded tube having excellent uniform corrosion resistance in a carbon oxide corrosive environment and furthermore scarcely causing selective corrosion in the welding part and to provide a method for producing the same.
This tube has a compsn. contg., as essential components, by weight, ≤0.2% C, ≤0.5% Si, ≤2% Mn, ≤0.08% Al, 0.2 to 3% Cr, and the balance substantial Fe, and the electric resistance welding part has a melted and solidified structure. As for the method for producing the same, a steel sheet having such component is prepd, and this steel sheet is formed into an open pipe. Both edge parts opposed in this open pipe are heated at the melting temp. of the steel or below. Both edge parts opposed in the open pipe are irradiated with laser beams, which are melted, and furthermore, upsetting is executed to produce an electric resistance welded tube.
