To enable boiled rice to be scorched by providing a means for selecting a boiled rice scorching function and setting the rice boiler heating temperature of a boiled rice heating means higher than that in the usual rice boiling to set the boiled rice scorching function in the start of rice boiling.
When in an operating panel part 100 a slide-type operating knob 116a of a scorching switch 116 is set to 'usual', plump rice without scorch is boiled up by a usual rice boiling function. On the other hand, when the same operating knob 116 is set to 'scorch', a scorch memory can be set at will to the boiled rice scorching function of scorching the boiled-up rice. That is, a microcomputer control unit judges whether or not the scorching memory is set in a boiling-up process. In the case of YES, the micon control unit judged whether or not the boiling temperature reaches higher than the boiling-up completing temperature 140°C which is 10°C higher than the rice boiling completing temperature 130°C. When the result shows YES, the completion of boiling-up is recognized, the rice boiling is shifted to the next steaming process and further to a temperature retaining process.
