To provide an electric rice cooker for preventing dew condensation water and sticky substance from reaching the outer end of a plug receiver and a boundary part between the plug receiver and a plug without, especially, causing complication of a structure nor an increase in cost.

The electric rice cooker includes: a handle 3 whose both ends 3a are pivoted at the upper parts on both sides of one-side periphery of a cooker body 1 so as to rise and fall between a rising position and a falling position; and the plug receiver 4 to be connected to an external power source by receiving the plug 5 from the outer end projecting from the lower part of the rear side of the side periphery of the cooker body 1. In a plane view, the outer end of the plug receiver 4 is positioned vertically under the falling handle 3.
