PURPOSE: To provide a light-weight and compact device which is most suitable for fishing such as single-hook fishing by providing a switch in parallel to a capacitor between a reactor and the capacitor, and repeating on/off of the switch continuously to provide a specified accumulated voltage.
CONSTITUTION: In a multi-stage separation type chopper boosting circuit A, electromagnetic energy is accumulated in a reactor 21 by an accumulated voltage regulation switch 28, and by opening the switch 28, this electromagnetic energy is stored in a capacitor 26 as electrostatic energy. This is repeated till a specified accumulated voltage is obtained. By closing a discharge switch 23, the electrostatic energy stored in the capacitor 26 is discharged from a harpoon, a hook, a fishing net, etc., to a fish body as a discharge current for electric shock from a positive electrode 24. A negative electrode 25 is grounded in water. By using a battery of an output voltage of 24V which an ordinary fishing boat has, therefore, the electrostatic energy of an accumulated voltage exceeding 500V, by which an effective discharge current for giving electric shock can be provided, can be stored.
