Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electric storage system that simultaneously satisfies three conditions that (1) the required capacity of a storage battery can be reduced, (2) the system is applicable to a sudden increase of load electric power and the shortage of charged capacity is preventable, and (3) the storage battery can properly be charged in the process of preventing the shortage of the charged capacity.
SOLUTION: At a certain time the charged capacity is estimated of the storage battery at a time later than that the certain time. When this estimated value becomes lower than a prescribed threshold value, the capacity of a charging current and a charging period are determined on the basis of the estimate, and the battery is charged in advance. As a result, the shortage of the charged capacity is preventable and the battery can be charged with an adequate charging current.
