This controller has an electric machine, an electric machine rotational speed detection processing means 91 which detects the rotational speed of the electric machine, an efficiency computation processing means 92 which computes the efficiency of the electric machine, a power limiting value computation processing means 93 which computes the power limiting value corresponding to battery state, a torque limiting value computation processing means 94 which computes the torque limiting value of electric machine torque, based on the electric machine rotational speed, the efficiency, and the power limiting value, and a motor machine objective torque computation processing means 95 which computes the electric machine objective torque expressing the objective value of the electric machine torque, based on the torque limiting value. In this case, the torque limiting value of the electric machine torque is computed based on the electric machine rotational speed, the efficiency, and the power limiting value, and the electric machine objective torque is computed based on that torque limiting value.
