To perform driving by means of stored electric power, by including a vehicle driving motor, an inverter driving the vehicle driving motor, a flywheel-type electric power storage system, a battery for driving the vehicle driving motor and the electric power storage system, and an electric power controller.

This electric vehicle is provided with a vehicle driving motor 30, an inverter 31 for converting direct current into alternating current for driving the motor 30, a flywheel-type electric power storage system 32, and an electric power controller 33 for controlling the inverter 31 and the electric power storage system 32. The power controller 33, provided with a battery for driving the vehicle driving motor 30 and the electric power storage system 32, is connected to an external charging power source 34. With the battery of the power controller 33 charged by the electric power supplied from the power source 34, a magnetic bearing controller 36 is driven by the battery, and the electric power controller 33 functions a motor 5 as a motor and drives the motor 5 through an inverter. It is thus possible to perform driving by means of stored electric power.
