An electric vehicle 11 includes a body 13 including a body frame, a drive module 22, a connecting unit 52, and a control unit 53. The drive module includes: a sub-frame attachable to and detachable from the body frame; a drive wheel; a drive device 29 which is mounted on the sub-frame, includes a motor to impart drive force to the drive wheel, and starts or accelerates the electric vehicle; a suspension device 30 for a drive wheel, which is mounted on the sub-frame; a brake device 31 for the drive wheel, which stops or decelerates the electric vehicle 11; and the like. The connecting unit holds a relative positional relationship between the body 13 and the drive module 22 when the sub-frame is mounted on the body frame, and connects the body 13 with the drive module 22 through a signal wire 57b or the like. The control unit controls the drive module 22 by an input signal inputted from the body 13 through the signal wire 57b or the like connected in the connecting unit 52.
