Abstract:
To reduce, while a main battery is charged by an external power supply device, the influence of noise from a voltage converter connected between the main battery and a sub battery, on the power supply device.SOLUTION: An electric vehicle includes a charging inlet and a controller. A voltage converter steps down the voltage of a main battery to the voltage of a sub battery. The charging inlet is connected to the main battery and connectable to a power supply device outside the vehicle. The controller continuously drives the voltage converter by using a carrier signal having a prescribed first frequency while the vehicle is traveling. The controller executes one of the following controls (1) to (3) while the power supply device outside the vehicle is connected to the charging inlet: (1) a first control for intermittently driving the voltage converter; (2) a second control for continuously driving the voltage converter while varying the frequency of the carrier signal; and (3) a third control for changing the frequency of the carrier signal to a second frequency lower than the first frequency.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
