Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine abnormality of a backup power supply device for use in supplying power to a discharge control part that discharges a charge on a smoothing capacitor when a collision is detected.SOLUTION: An input voltage Va of an MGECU is detected when a backup power supply device is not operated and stored as a voltage Va(1) (S100), and a voltage produced by adding a given voltage Vset to the voltage Va(1) is used as a target voltage Va* to operate a backup power supply device 60 (S120, S130). In this state, an input voltage Va of an MGECU 52 is detected and stored as a voltage Va(2) (S150), and whether or not the voltage Va(2) is within a normal range is determined (S160). If the voltage is within the normal range, the backup power supply device is determined to be normal (S170), whereas if outside the normal range, it is determined that abnormality has occurred to the backup power supply device (S180). This makes it possible to determine abnormality even in a normal time where no collision of the vehicle is detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
