The electric water pump includes: stators 102, 104, 108, 109 generating a magnetic field; a rotor 84 rotated by the magnetic field; a pump cover 10 having an inlet 12 with cooling water led to flow into and an outlet 14 with the cooling water led to flow out; a body 30 having a front surface 32 forming a vortex chamber between the pump cover and the front surface, a stator chamber 42 mounting the stator, and a rotor chamber 38 mounting the rotor; a shaft 82 having a center shaft, fixed to the rotor, rotated around the center shaft together with the rotor, and mounted in the rotor chamber; and an impeller 22 mounted in the vortex chamber 16, fixed to the front end of the shaft, rotated together with the shaft, and pressurizing the cooling water led to flow into through the inlet. The rotor chamber is connected to the vortex chamber so as to allow fluid to flow, and the stator chamber is sealed with respect to the rotor chamber so as to keep watertightness.
