To provide an electric wheelchair which enables a physically-challenged occupant to easily adjust a position of the electric wheelchair to a device in the backward direction.
The electric wheelchair 1 is positioned right in front of a seat base 25 by detecting a position of the seat base 25 by a laser, by determining a distance between the electric wheelchair and the seat base 25 by ultrasound, and by making distances between both right and left ends of the electric wheelchair 1 and both right and left ends of the seat base 25 equal. Therefore, after the occupant ends the control, he/she couples the electric wheelchair to the seat base 25 only by moving the electric wheelchair 1 to the back by manual operation, and the electric wheelchair 1 is used as a seat device.
