To provide an electric wire and a method for manufacturing the electric wire.
This electric wire is provided with at least one electric conductor 1 enveloped by an insulating portion 2. On the insulation portion 2, a braid 4 made from a metal conductor and serving as an electric shield is placed. On the braid 4, a sheath 6 of an insulating material is made. In order to obtain an efficient shield even when a frequency is extremely high, a periphery of the insulating portion 2 made of a heat resistant material is enveloped by a closed metal coat 3 produced by vapor deposition. Then, the braid 4 is attached on the coat 3 in direct contact with the coat 3. The braid 4 is additionally provided on a periphery thereon with a metallic layer 5 produced by a coating method.
