Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coaxial cable connector high in efficiency and very easy in assembly and termination.
SOLUTION: An electrical connector is provided to terminal connect a coaxial cable having at least an inner conductor and an outer conductive shield. This connector is equipped with a coaxial cable carrier 12 for accepting the coaxial cable, this including a ground terminal 28, and the carrier 12 is engaged with the conductive shield of the coaxial cable. A terminal module 10 includes an insulating block 16 for attaching a signal terminal 14 thereto. The module 10 is attached to the carrier 12 to form a sub-assembly 30 in which the signal terminal 14 is substantially parallel to the ground terminal 28. A conductive shield shell 32 accepts the sub-assembly 30 and is engaged with the coaxial cable carrier 12. A cover 44 is attached to the shell 32 so as to hold the conductor of the coaxial cable in engagement with the signal terminal 14 of the terminal module 10.
