Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an electrical contact material for a fuseless breaker with improved welding resistance by adding specified amounts of cadmium oxide, tin oxide, indium oxide and zinc oxide to a silver matrix.
CONSTITUTION: This electrical contact material for a fuseless breaker consists of cadmium oxide contg. 1W6% metallic Cd, tin oxide contg. 4W10% metallic Sn, indium oxide contg. 4.1W10% metallic In, zinc oxide contg. 0.1W4% metallic Zn, and the balance Ag. To the composition may be added 0.01W0.5% one or more among nickel oxide, cobalt oxide and iron oxide. This contact material has superior welding resistance, causes slight consumption due to arc, and contributes to the conservation of expensive silver.
