PURPOSE: To provide an adhesive consisting of metal fiber and thermosetting resin with a required viscosity and forming an adhesive of uniform thickness in the predetermined area of welded part.

CONSTITUTION: An adhesive 3 having an electric resistivity of 107Ωcm or lower is prepd. by mixing metal fiber 5 with a thermosetting resin 6 which has a required viscosity and may contain additives such as antioxidant and latent curing catalyst. The adhesive 3 is applied in the thickness of 0.1W2.0mm to a release paper 1 placed on a mold frame 2 or to a non-tacky film 4 to produce an electrically conductive adhesive film for spot welding. The adhesive film is attached to flanges 9 to be spot welded, followed by joining of steel plates 10, 10' and spot welding with electrode tips 11, 11'.
