The electrically powered cooking apparatus is characterized in that a commutator motor having a movable brush is used, and in that the safety device is constructed so that the cooking apparatus is capable of operating when putting a cooking container onto a body and engaging the brush with the commutator through a detecting body and so that the cooking apparatus is incapable of operating when removing the cooking container from the body and disengaging the brush from the commutator.
