Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize ozoneless direct electrification at low applied voltage even in the case of using a simple member such as an electrifying roller or a fur brush as a contact electrifying member though the member is soiled by toner, to execute the direct electrification and a toner recycle system in an image recorder, and to completely restrain the falling of electrification accelerating particles supplied to the contact electrifying member to an image carrier so as to eliminate image defect such as the interception of image exposure light or the hindrance of development.
SOLUTION: In this electrifying device, the surface of a body to be electrified 1 is electrified by the flexible electrifying member 2 forming a nip part (n) with the body 1 and the member 2 is moved while keeping a speed difference from the body 1; and the device is provided with an electrification accelerating particles supply means 3A supplying the electrification accelerating particles (m) to the member 2, and provided with a mode A in which the particles (m) are supplied to the member 2 from the supply means 3A and a mode B in which the body 1 is electrified without supplying the particles (m) to the member 2 from the supply means 3A as the operation mode of the device.
