Abstract:
To display a high quality picture by increasing light resistance in an electro-optical device such as a liquid crystal device.
The electro-optical device is provided with picture electrodes (9a), TFTs (30) connected therewith, shielding layers (73, 6a) covering at least channel areas of these TFTs, and light absorbing layers (72, 71a) mainly formed of the main material forming the channel areas arranged between these shielding layers and the TFTs. The light absorbing layers control inner surface reflection and multiple reflection caused by the inner surface faced to the TFT side of the shielding layers.
