Abstract:

To provide an electro-optical module which allows ventilation passages capable of efficiently releasing heat generated in an electro-optical panel to be realized with a simple structure, and further to provide an electronic apparatus.

In an electro-optical module 10, a first substrate 51 is provided with a small-sized first translucent plate 56 overlapping an image display region 40a and a plate-like cover 90. The plate-like cover 90 is coupled to a frame 60 by an engagement plate portion 95 being engaged with the frame 60. In such a state, the plate-like cover 90 constitutes, together with a side end surface of the first translucent plate 56, an exposed portion of an electro-optical panel 40 from the first translucent plate 56 and the frame 60, ventilation passages (first ventilation passage 191 and second ventilation passage 192) which extend along extension directions of side end surfaces 511 and 512 of the first substrate 51 and open on both sides of the extension directions. Cooling air flows through the ventilation passages.
