Title:
ELECTROCHEMICAL BIOSENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3924487
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biosensor which can uniformly send a reagent in which an excess enzyme is removed to a reaction layer.
SOLUTION: The biosensor comprises an enzyme binding antibody layer 14 containing an enzyme binding antibody for binding an enzyme for generating an electrochemically active substance in reaction of an antibody of a substance to be measured with a substrate, a competing reaction layer fixed with a sufficient quantity of the substance for binding to the enzyme binding antibody to be completed with the substance to be measured in the reagent, an electrochemical reaction layer 15 containing the substrate to be reacted with the enzyme, and electrodes on the substrate 10. In this biosensor, the electrochemical reaction layer is brought into direct contact with the electrodes, the completing reaction layer is formed of a lateral flow membrane, the enzyme binding antibody layer is brought into direct contact with the reaction layer at an upstream of the competing reaction layer, the competing reaction layer is passed above the electrochemical reaction layer by opening an infinitesimal gap to the electrochemical reaction layer, and its downstream end is fixed to the substrate formed with the electrodes so that the reagent leaked on the substrate from the distal end of the completing reaction layer is introduced into the gap above the electrochemical reaction layer by means of a capillarity.
