Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst which suppresses a hydrogen generation reaction when COis converted to more useful products for reaction by using an electrochemical cell.SOLUTION: There is provided a catalyst mixture containing a catalytic active element and a cocatalyst, wherein one of the cocatalysts is imidazolium or pyridinium and the imidazolium is 1-ethyl-3-methyl imidazolium cation (EMIM). There is provided a catalyst mixture, wherein the catalyst mixture electrochemically converts COto at least one reaction product. There is provided a catalyst mixture, wherein the catalytic active element contains at least one of the following elements:V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Sn, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ru, Rh, Pd, Ag, Cd, Hf, Ta, W, Re, Ir, Pt, Au, Hg, Al, Si, C, In, Tl, Pb, Bi, Sb, Te, U, Sm, Tb, La, Ce and Nd.SELECTED DRAWING: None
