Title:
ELECTROCHEMICAL CONTROL OF AQUATIC ORGANISM AND ANTIFOULING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3697650
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for electrochemically controlling aquatic organisms, high in effects for killing the cells of the aquatic organisms and for releasing the adhered cells and their decomposed products from the surface of a conductive substrate to be fouled, and controlled in the deterioration of the conductive substrate.
SOLUTION: This method for electrochemically controlling aquatic organisms directly or indirectly brought into contact with the surface of a conductive substrate 2 comprises applying a positive electric potential not causing the decomposition of electrolytes to the conductive substrate 2. Therein, the characteristics comprise a process for applying the positive electric potential not causing the decomposition of the electrolytes and a process for periodically changing the electric potential between the positive electric potential not causing the decomposition of the electrolytes and 0 Vvs. SCE.
