Abstract:

To provide an electrochemical device having a high capacity and a long life, the electrochemical device administrating an amount of lithium imparted per the unit area of an electrode to supplement an irreversible capacity to the electrode for the electrochemical element capable of storing and discharging a lithium ion.

The method of manufacturing an electrode for the electrochemical device includes: a step of imparting lithium and an element other than constituent materials of the electrode which has an atomic weight larger than lithium to a negative electrode precursor 41 by using lithium vapor and vapor of the element. In the negative electrode precursor 41 made by the manufacturing method, a quantity of lithium imparted to the negative electrode precursor 41 per unit area can be estimated, thereby administrating the quantity of lithium imparted.
