To provide an electrochemical device, which has a low internal resistance, and which facilitates filling of electrolyte, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same.

The electrochemical device includes a first electrode active material layer covering a linear first electrode collector and a surface of the first electrode collector, a separator layer covering a surface of the first electrode active material layer, and a basic cell consisting of a second electrode active material layer covering a surface of the separator layer. The basic cell is electrically connected to the second electrode collector via a porous conductor layer, and the basic cell connected to the second electrode collector is accommodated with an electrolyte inside an outer case having the electrolyte.
